The AndersonFordMotorsports - PMS Standalone Engine Management System!
I purchased the AFM (Anderson Ford Motorsports) PMS For 1994 - 1995 Mustangs. The PMS is a piggy back engine managment system.

This allows me to tune the car in real time. With the addition of the LM-1 Wideband I can datalog RPM / TPS / and any other sensors i decide to hookup (less than 5v output). |
After using this tuning device for several months and the car running better than ever i give it a Two Thumbs up. Its very easy to use and understand. Here is an example of a PMS base tune. Its designed for a centricical supercharger.

When doing any tuning on your vehicle, make sure you fully understand what you are doing. I have been fortunate enough to not break any parts. Start with very little timing and extra fuel and slowly work your way towards your goals. |

Now that The Turbo and Engine Managment System are working flawlessly the car runs like a missle. I spend about one hour per day taking the car out and cruising country roads or around town.

Here is the Engine Bay this year, not show quality or anything fancy but i keep cleaning up parts and putting them back i would like to pull the engine and paint the entire car this winter. |
The Total Cost For the PMS and 3 Bar Map was about 950.00USD Plus shipping. Expensive? Yes sort of but i finally have some control over the car and the parts as i change them. And real word tunning seems to take care of things the dyno tune didnt. Low speed bucking, idle surging its all gone. It idles at 700 - 750 rpm with a nice air fuel for cruising. Under WOT its currently a bit rich (10.5 - 11.0) but thats better anyway. I could get it tuned this fall or next spring on the dyno down in Calgary and get some more power but in all reality i dont need it! The car really hauls ass now. I would recomend using a PMS as a stepping stone in your tuning quest. I will try a more advanced system next maybe a tweecert or a fast system. |
