Front Coil Over Suspension Installation(modular mustang Front Coil Over kit)
Front Coil Over Installation Instructions! By Ed Robinson!
The parts are all finally together the weather suck (-15) and only a small portable heater for the garage but I can't wait! Its saturday and time to get some work done!
Jack up the Vehicle and support by frame rails! (DISCONET BATTERY BEFORE JACKING)
Stock Coil Spring and Factory Front Strut are both coming out!
Disconnect the sway bar end links and tie rode end i removed the brake rotor and caliber
Sway bar bushings are completely destroyed from 100,000km of driving When they said replace the soft bushings these things are like gum.
Discount the 2 Bushing on each side for the sway bar removal.
Hang the Brake caliper by a wire do not let it hang you will damage the brake lines.
I purchased a coil spring compressor for 14.95 to make sure i didn't kill myself trying to do this! I suggest the same for you.
Here is the factory strut and spring vs the new coil over and new front strut.
Now that everything was out of the way it was time to install the caster camber plates. Then return to the front end rebuild.
Slide the Assembled Coil Over up into the strut tower with the correct spacers in place.
Bolt up strut to the spindle, repeat same on other side.
Now to replace the sway bar, it was sanded and painted new bushings and grease. Looks good and should help the front end with those new bushings.
Install the New end links (or reuse your existing) I purchased ones for a lowered car 3/4" shorter than regular, and allot beefier
Install the caliber and remaining parts back. Don't forget to bend that anti lock brake line bracket out of the way. before you attach the tie rod jack up the a-arm and see if you have any binding issues.

Figured it wouldn't hurt to put a bit of black tremclad on the brake backing plate.
The nice thing about doing the work yourself is you can spend the time to clean up those old parts. Don't rush and get the proper safety tools (coil compressor)
